Every year during the week of coding EU in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Ukraine coding events and digital events are taking at the German initiative Meet and Code. These activities are based on the ideas of the Neilie Crous advisory group, which was ex-commissioner’s in digital direction and was supported by the European Commission.
The purpose of the German initiative Meet and Code – show children and young people ages 8 to 24 years old the world of programming and information technology; demonstrate how the most bold creative ideas can be implemented through programming; learn how IT works and impact our daily lives with you. Through this initiative, children and young people are developing the skills needed in the modern world through research on a wide variety of technologies, digital topics and programming.
For the second consecutive year, FC «Euroshpon-Smyga» has joined this initiative. Last year was a challenge to combine IT and football. Children from Smyga community participated in the creation of an application (on Android) that helps control the drinking water during the day for athletes (especially during training). The benefits of this app are hard to overestimate because water is the basis of health for the athlete and the key to victory. This event was held at the Rivne Computer Academy of SHAG.

This year, EU Coding Week lasted from 5 to 20 October.Due to the selection of application FC «Euroshpon-Smyga» in this competition, the Smyga community has also become part of the European community, which sees the future behind a young, physically healthy, socially responsible and intellectual generation that uses modern technology to develop both the community and society as a whole.
During the European week of coding FC «Euroshpon-Smyga» held a number of events on the basis of Smyga reference school, the purpose of which is to solve the problem of environmental pollution through the use of telephone applications on Android.
Each of the three events consisted of two parts: the first half had an informational character where participants were presented a video highlighting the problem of the negative impact of landfills on climate change and human health. The kids also got acquainted with Android apps that teach the right sorting of recyclables. The second part of the event was a hands-on where participants split into teams and competed in sorting speed contests using Android trash sorting apps.
After getting acquainted with the basic principles of garbage sorting, the participants had the opportunity to participate in the Eco Challenge #Я_сортую_а_ти?, where in practice they tried to start splitting trash and showcased their achievements by shooting interesting and creative challenges. The most active participants of the event received brochures, certificates and gifts that are made of eco-raw materials.
Implementation of this measure is possible on the initiative Meet and Code, which is funded by the corporation SAP, which provides support and resources to nonprofit organizations. In Ukraine, Meet and Code is implemented by the GURT Resource Center: A portal for socially active citizens, a partner of the Global Network TechSoup.
